Download Driver Touchpad Asus Windows 7 64 Bit Install Update
The problem is that the touchpad doesn't work at all on Windows, it doesn't even appears in the device manager. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. I already tried running the setup as admin, installing the newest Intel chipset drivers, load the BIOS default.
Nothing helped, and I can't use the trackpad at all. ASUS support wasn't helpful. BIOS installed is Touchpad seems to be from ELAN. I was finally able to install the driver. The problem is that before installing the touchpad driver, it is needed to install some other motherboard drivers.
This is not mentioned anywhere. I found it when I copied the ASUS installer software from the original ssd which came with everything pre-installed and installed the components in the same order it was listed in the application. It is a shame that ASUS support did not help. Do you know where I can get this driver? It's not on the Asus support page and intel's driver assistant isn't showing it either.
Did this solve your problem? Sorry this didn't help. I'm having the same issue with my laptop, but I lost the installer software. What exactly did you need to install before installing the touchpad driver? I did what you said, and the touchpad driver is not listed as I expected, since the installation always failed. In the command prompt, type wmic and press Enter. Type product get name and press Enter Note: This will give you a list of program names installed on your computer to use in the next step. Type in either command below using the exact name of the program ex: Microsoft Silverlight listed in above within quotes that you want to uninstall, and press Enter.
Andre Da Costa Replied on May 17, It simply might not be compatible yet with Windows 10 The best you can do right now is downgrade to Windows 10 , stick with it for next 3 to 6 months then try again. Yes, not the best news you want to hear. These feature updates are not thoroughly engineered and are rushed mostly to meet deadlines. They have become highly unnecessary in some instances. Focus the apps and less on having the latest version of Windows. If your apps are working fine and your getting your work done.
Minimize your need to jump on the latest release. Now, get ready to go back to your previous version. I recommend Windows 10 because its the most stable and efficient release to date.
You should backup your files before downgrading. Applications will need to be reinstalled. The custom install will archive your files, so you can recover them from the Windows.
